Scope note

  • Use Parvovirinae when the specific type of Porcine parvovirus is not mentioned. (Deep sequencing of porcine tissues has led to the discovery of many new porcine parvoviruses. With the discovery of many new porcine parvoviruses, Porcine parvovirus was renamed as Ungulate protoparvovirus 1 (Porcine parvovirus 1). Other porcine parvoviruses discovered were named as Ungulate tetraparvovirus 2 (Porcine parvovirus 3/PPV3); Ungulate tetraparvovirus 3 (Porcine parvovirus2/PPV2) and Ungulate copiparvovirus 2 (Porcine parvovirus 4/PPV4). Porcine parvovirus 5 (PPV5) and Porcine parvovirus 6 (PPV6) remain unclassified, but both species have been regarded as copiparvoviruses. Porcine parvovirus 7 (PPV7) is proposed to belong to Chapparvovirus. Microbiology and Immunology. 2020;64: 366–376. https://doi.org/10.1111/1348‐0421.12782).
