Biosynthesis of glycerol 3-phosphate or triglyceride from precursors other than glucose or glycerol. Glycerol 3-phosphate is usually synthesized from glucose by glycolysis, but when glucose amount drops in the cell, it is generated by glyceroneogenesis.
