Definition

  • Information A typically acute, highly contagious disease of pigs, caused by the Classical swine fever virus. It has a sudden onset with high morbidity and mortality, but can also occur in chronic and subclinical forms. Symptoms include high fever, anorexia, hemorrhage, and other digestive, nervous and pulmonary symptoms, and infection may lead to reproductive failure.
