  • Information Soil inorganic carbon (SIC) is the result of mineral weathering. It is derived from soil carbonates and usually concentrated below the topsoil. Most of SIC is in the form of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in lower soil layers of arid and semi-arid regions of the world.
