  • Information Especie del género Simplexvirus que causa la mayoría de las formas de herpes simple no genital en humanos. La infección primaria tiene lugar principalmente en bebés y niños pequeños y, posteriormente, el virus se vuelve latente en los ganglios de la raíz dorsal. Luego se reactiva de manera periódica a lo largo de la vida, produciendo estados casi siempre benignos.
