Definición

  • Information An autosomal recessive hereditary disease affecting young Holstein calves. Homozygous individuals die from extreme susceptibility to infection, caused by an inability of leukocytes to pass from the blood stream into infected tissue. This inability is due to the lack of beta-2 integrin adhesion protein on the surface of the white blood cells due to two point mutations in the CD18 gene.
